Barrington Regional Hurricane Relief Team Needs Volunteers and Donations
The Barrington community has come together to form Barrington Regional Hurricane Relief (BRHR) to respond directly to the recent Hurricane disasters by organizing volunteers to travel to the disaster sites to help those in need. BRHR, supported by The Build Team, needs volunteers to help in the Houston area on a trip to Harris County, TX from November 10 -19. Employers Needed for BHS Summer Pre-Professional Internship Program
Barrington High School, 616 W Main St. in Barrington, is looking for employers in the community who are willing to host an intern as part of the school’s Summer Pre-Professional Internship Class. The program is available to incoming juniors and seniors and runs from June 4 – July 19. Students must work a minimum of 15 hours/week during this six-week period, but hours can be flexible and can include a combination of shadowing, observation and hands-on experience. Barrington Giving Day, a 501-c3 non profit organization, is requesting donations of coats, snow pants, boots, hats and gloves, as well as toys and gifts for children up to 18 years of age, at all District 220 schools and other drop-off locations around Barrington from November 1 – December 7. Families who are on the Free & Reduced Lunch program in Barrington School District 220 are then invited to a Giving Day in December to receive these items, as well as boxes of food made possible through generous cash donations.
